The illegal dumping and homeless encampment under 580 is unstoppable. I feel like I should just get used to it I guess. Where does all the junk come from? Dumping? Or do the homeless people drag it in when I'm at work? If I say nothing at all, the homeless camp will grow and grow especially since it will be raining and people must seek shelter. Are there shelters in Oakland? I know in San Jose, people line up at the shelter every night. They must be there before a certain time to get in and be out early in the morning. There is no smoking, drinking or drugs allowed. That may be a deterrent for some. I'm thinking if they remove that blue tarp which hides homeless and dumpers from view, it may be helpful.
