Description

Since last night there's been a brown tint to our water - both cold water and hot water. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I called the Regional Water Authority. They reported that the New Haven Fire Department was flushing the hydrants yesterday and that is what is causing the temporary discoloration.

The discoloration should have cleared. If it has not, please call the Regional Water Authority at 203-562-4020 to report it.

The issue has cleared for the cold water, but not for the hot. In the middle of running the bathtub water this morning to see if I could clear the hot water, a Regional Water Authority employee showed up! How's that for customer service! I am closing this issue. Thank you RWA for your responsiveness

Thank you, Mr. Wessel, for the acknowledgement. I sent the SCF message to our distribution group when we opened this morning - it sounded as though discolored water had been drawn into your hot water heater. Glad it's resolved for you!
