Dear City of Richmond: we are not going to let this issue close until this house is : 1) Torn down and the owner, Colonnade Properties at 3600 Douglasdale Road, is slapped with proper fines and hauled into court for maintaining a condemned and nuisance property, or 2) this condemned property is rehabilitated and the owner, Colonnade Properties at 3600 Douglasdale Road, is slapped with proper fines and hauled into court for maintaining a condemned and nuisance property.

Why, with all the good that is going on in our neighborhood of Woodland Heights and all the tax revenue that you collect from the citizens of this feisty group of citizens, is this "issue" of 3305 Semmes Avenue allowed to fester for 2 years and the property inspectors tolerate the vagrants, drug dealings, snakes, rats and decay to the house that is on a main thoroughfare in the city? Even after repeated complaints by the residents of Woodland Heights, still you maintain this
" issue is closed".

This property needs to be addressed immediately. Just across the street is a burned out home where vagrants caused such damage, the house will likely have to be torn down. Unlike that property, the house in question sits just a few feet from 2 other homes both of which would be at risk for significant damage should the vagrants succeed in torching 3305 Semmes Ave. This neighborhood is on the Federal and State Registers as a historic district and the property in question is a contributing structure. The company that owns the property needs to make repairs or forfeit the property.
