Nope, because, as it is the pedestrians have to wait forever to cross, and then we get only 17 seconds to cross over 5 lanes of traffic, and those with canes and walkers, as well as strollers can't do it as it is. Somebody is going to get hurt there. I was going to post about this intersection separately, but I 'll join my post to yours.. The design of this intersection, and the merging of 3 highway exits into one, was a terrible idea, and now we see why there were 3 exits.. The idea to put that big pharmaceutical building was another deceptive sell-out by the City to Yale, and we will be suffering for it for years to come. Another problem with it .. both the highway entranc and exit is that emergency vehicles cannot get through at rush hour traffic. . We citizens who live an work in this area have been duped by the City. The design favors people who exit and go to Yale, and then from Yale back onto the highway. Any other activities don't count. I'm watching the 5 PM traffic jam now. There have been 3 emergency vehicles trying to pass,, one was going north on Church St. , one was coming off the highway and going straight to the hospital, and one crossing Church St, which was backed up for the red light that allows people off the highway. We need alternative routes to relieve this,, that were taken from us in the merging.
