I agree. We NEED trash barrels. But will they even bother to go out of their way to put their trash in the barrels is the question... and will they be emptied frequently by the city or left full and over flowing... The internet calls new Bedford trash city How can we have any pride in our city when this is so? Something needs to change immediately.

It Has Been One Week Since I Reported The Trash Along The North Side Of Winston St. The City Has Yet To Respond To this Dirty Situation! How Long Will It Take? I Walk Winston St Daily, and It Would Not Be Too Much For Me To Pick Up The Trash and Place It A Barrel. The Problem Is That The City Is Reluctant To Provide Barrels To This Area. If The Sassaquin Pond Area Is Provided These Barrels, Shouldn't The Citizens of Winston St. Be Provided The Same Service??? Recently I Observed An ABC Disposal Truck Stopped In The Area That Needed Cleaning. The Driver Was Walking Around His Truck. I Assumed He Was Picking Up The Trash That Was Requested On 10/02/2015 As I Approached The Area The Truck Had Left And To My Amazement He Left Some Trash and Sludge Along Side Of The Road. I Reported This Incident Twice To The Environmental Dept. I Never Received a Call Back About This, and The Trash Still Remains Where The Truck Was Stopped! I've Heard of New Bedford Being Called A "Dirty City", But Maybe If The City Provides Barrels Us Citizens Can Make A Difference...........

Im not surprised. I once called the police dept to report dirty needles on the sidewalk. They came but only picked up one. I had to call back for them to get the others.
