Huntington Road stratford, ct
there should be clearly marked school zone signs and paintings on the road. there should be blinking lights and there should be cops watching for cars going over 25 mph. Kids safety should be upmost in our hearts and minds. also think of the revenue that would go to the town with citations. There is enuf disregard for posted speed limits but when it comes to schools we need blinking lights telling us when we are entering the schools zone and when we are leaving it. let's make stratford a model for respecting school zones.

There is a sidewalk from Main Street to the Bridge
over Rail Road tracks by Marshalls / Home Depot.
Across street there are sidewalks for people who
take the BUS in front of WalMart-Home Depot.
From the Bridge to Marshall's entrance and beyond
the is NO sidewalk and POOR LIGHTING.
- It is a STATE ROAD!
- Pedestrians and Bike Riders could be hit?
- McDonald's + Movie Theaters nearby attract teens, who walk / ride bikes and poor who don't
drive, but depend on BUS.
This is a FATALITY waiting to Happen!

The light to turn into HomeDepot either needs to be extended for north bound traffic on route 1, or the arrow only turn needs to be removed. The amount of traffic going into HomeDepot on a weekend (and most afternoons) backs up to the point at which it blocks the preceeding intersection.

Spend one morning or evening at this intersection and you'll see why a left turn signal is needed at W. Broad & California/Knowlton. This is a huge problem! The intersection gets completely blocked, then when the light changes, no one can move...please vote to get this resolved!
Nichols Ave & Armory Rd Stratford, CT
why do some folks insist on getting as close to the red light as possible- despite a small sign posted that warns against blocking the intersection ( worthless signage in my opinion, never enforced ) some idiiots gleefully sit in an intersection instead of allowing traffic to flow- to those that do keep the intersection free & clear, i give a thanks & a prayer- those that block the way, well, what goes around comes around
Barnum And Main Street Stratford, CT
Early Mornings (2:15am) Traffic light at intersection of Main and Barnum keeps cycling between turn arrow and green for Barnum Avenue only. Trying to make a left onto Barnum from Main coming from Paradise Green and it never gives the left turn arrow unless someone is sitting at the light to go straight.

The grassy area on the corner of Nichols and North Ave. (on the school side) where the crossing guard stands is so uneven. They dug it up a while ago and never fixed it. There are mounds that stick up and large trenches. When the kids cross they sometimes trip. Makes it very hard the crossing guard to run out into the street to stop cars. Also so many cars try to cheat the light and continue turning onto North when the crossing sign says to walk. There should be a police officer there to stop these people before a child gets hit.

They fixed the sidewalks across the street from the school in front of the white house on the corner where my daughter fell. They installed a red pad for gripping when walking down the ramp for strollers BUT forgot to remove the plastic covering. There are instructions still on it that say remove 48 hours after installing. It's been a couple of weeks. It get slippery when it rains and fills with water. They still need to fix the sidewalk in front of the school down by the parking lot. They have pot holes that they cold patched a few months ago and and some of the sidewalk lifted up and I saw a child trip and fall last week.
107 Maple Street Stratford, CT
There has been an abandoned, deteriorating boat and car in the driveway of 107 Maple Street for over 10 years. They never move and are becoming more of an eyesore each year. Foliage is growing out of the boat. The car is on blocks. An older couple lives there and I understand that one of their adult children leaves these items in the driveway. It's wrong and needs to be addressed. It brings down the neighborhood.
