A petition for an all-way stop at this intersection has been submitted by residents of the area. City staff have conducted site visits at all locations, and engineering staff are currently working to determine if these locations are warranted under the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). This is the guiding document for all engineering issues related to traffic control. The City must ensure that the addition of any new controls can be supported under these guidelines.
City staff will also be reaching out to staff and parents in the City Schools of Decatur, as 3 all-way stops have been proposed in the vicinity of the 4/5 Academy.
