Sewer Department 1 assigned this issue to Engineering Department

This is a continual problem that needs a PERMANENT solution. The French Drain would be acceptable for a park or unimproved land...this is a NEIGHBORHOOD of TAX PAYERS.

I have explained multiple times about this situation. The only way to place a storm drain in that location is to get funding from your councilman. I am going to send this to council.

A duplicate? This was sent in last year. I will continue to report the flooding until a real drain system is placed in this alley, the 4000 and 3900 block of wabash are both in the same situation. This is upsetting since 90% of the people on this block are homeowners and pay taxes. The city needs to fix our sewer problems before worrying about the Festival of the Lakes and bike trails.

All duplicate means is that there are multiple complaints about the same issue. It will just tag it onto the original showing multiple complaints. As of this issue, as stated before this is not something we can just fix. You must talk to your councilman if you wish to continue this. We have this assigned to him as well. Also, please be assured we inspected the drain multiple times. It inspected last at 8 AM Friday morning to see any standing water. The alleys on 4000 and 3900 were completely dry. I know this is not the case for a storm, but the French drain does get rid of the water quickly and is one of the best working ones in the entire City. Please understand this issue needs to go through proper channels and I do not have the means to correct this. You are welcome to make more issues to this but all I can do is mark them with the original Issue. My problem is the water runs off the ally into my yard and I can go swimming in my yard . I can’t tell you how many pumps I have burned out because my pump runs non stop . They put a French drain in and it worked for several years. But now I am back to the same problem. I am the low spot on the block so everything drains into my yard.

This area Seriously needs the city’s help with this.
