Description
The following streets are in desperate need of a street-sweeper to clean the curbside organic matter in front of the sewer grates:
*Dunlap Street
*Astor Avenue
*West Hodge Avenue
*West Berry Avenue
*Tenny Street
*Palmer Street
*Stabler Street
On May 25, I went for a walk around the neighborhood. Upon hitting the West Berry Avenue-Palmer Street intersection, I observed an elderly neighbor attempting to clean the organic matter build-up on the sewer grate in front of her house with a snowshovel.
The smell was terrible and the weight of the clean-up was beyond what she could have ever picked up. Upon observation, it was apparent most of the grates in the aforementioned area are clogged.
The neighbor said a recent rain caused water to back-up into the street.
The street-sweeper has been a rare sight in this neighborhood. And there is worry that the lack of short-term maintenance will cause further long-term problems.
Note: Most neighbors clean the grates adjacent to their homes; however, there are quite a few neighbors who cannot do this task because of age and physical limitations.

Thank you! I assisted the elderly neighbor when I saw this happening. She was more than grateful.
