Here's a photo from today. A friend said of this tree - "It looks quite dead." The nutrient bag is gone and weeds have grown around the base. This appears to be the Arbor Day tree planted in June? Photo comparison at http://malden.wickedlocal.com/article/20150626/NEWS/150628811 Let's review the planting and post-planting procedures and document the new tree survival rate. What didn't work with this tree planting? Why didn't this tree survive? Let's fix it and try again?
Sometimes a tree doesn't take with the dry weather during the summer. We are going to leave the tree and reevaluate the condition next spring. If at that time we decide it needs to be remove we will do so.
