The owners of this corner property have over the years flagrantly violated the needs and safety of their neighbors and passers by. The hedgerow extends beyond the sidewalk to such an extentent that is impossible to round the corner. Once you turn the corner from E. 17th onto Glenwood Road there is a slab of concrete that is raised abruptly more than 6" above the surface of the sidewalk. In snowy weather there have been quite a few trip and fall accidents. Further, the maintenance of the yard is appalling, with huge stacks of disused gardening apparatus that creates an eyesore and a harborage for rodents and other vermin. If asked, I could provide a petition signed by at least 50 area residents.
