With it getting dark earlier the situation is getting even more dangerous. Perhaps this area needs to be a tow away zone from 6pm-8pm. It will actively bring revenue in and solve the problem of cars not being parked in that area so trucks can deliver. Or work with smart and final corporate to adjust delivery times.

The Police Department is aware of this issue and actively pursuing potential solutions.

Question to SSFPD- it had been a month since this specific complaint. Issue has not been resolved. Improvements have not been seen either. Yesterday the smart and final truck arrived to deliver at 5:15pm almost 45 minutes prior to delivery time and double parked on Mosswood for an hour instead of Hazelwood. Then the driver moved into the delivery area only to have the 2nd truck of the night show up and block Mosswood again while the first truck unloaded. Blocking the adjacent street from Hazelwood does not seem like a solution. It's moving the problem into a residential area that also has heavy foot traffic (and cars double parking at the dance studio and the back of the smart and final parking lot.

The Police Department has issued several citations to vehicles in this area. We are doing what we can at this time to deal with what we understand is a very frustrating situation in the neighborhood. It would help us out tremendously if any "in progress" violations were reported immediately to the police department by calling 650-877-8900. Thank you.
