Description

Repeated Noise Complaints at 542 Washington Ave.

There occupants of 542 Washington Ave frequently play loud blaring music with heavy base. I live in adjoining building that shares a wall with 542 Washington and noises comes right through the wall and into my bedroom. It is so loud i can hear while wearing earplugs and can feel the base. This happens in evenings when I'm trying to rest or sleep and also happens during the day. It most frequently happens on weekends. I have call in numerous noise complaints over the past 9-10 months. And while a visit from APD sometimes helps, as soon as the officers leave, the loud music often comes back. I have also spoken to my beat officer about this (Officer Perkins) about this problems. In follow-up to my conversations with Officer Perkins I have emailed him twice (May 3 & July 13) but have not yet received a response to those e-mails. I have also made my Common Council member (Judd Krasher) aware of this problem.

I really would appreciate APD being proactive in getting this frequent music blaring to stop and where appropriate issue tickets for violations of the City of Albany noise ordinance.

Enough is enough. I want to be able to peacefully enjoy my apartment.
