Albany 4 Ever

  • 542 Washington Ave Albany, New York - Pine Hills

This problem has been ongoing with the occupant of one of the first floor apartments of 542 Washington Ave blasting music at various hours and disturbing neighbors trying to sleep, work or simply have quiet enjoyment of their apartment. And he does despite numerous noise complaints filed with APD and visits by APD.

And now once again, he disrespectful resident is blasting music loud music at 1am!!!

The resident is a nuisance and something needs to be done and I have run out of ideas and patience.

There is deep but small hole (width of piping) in Pavement in middle of Elk Street (less than 50 feet up from Eagle Street in front of NYS Bar Association buildings and near 2nd tree on right up from Eagle (1s treet is new tree, 2nd tree is first large tree). Street appears newly paved so hole may be intentional but was left unfilled.

Repeated Noise Complaints at 542 Washington Ave.

There occupants of 542 Washington Ave frequently play loud blaring music with heavy base. I live in adjoining building that shares a wall with 542 Washington and noises comes right through the wall and into my bedroom. It is so loud i can hear while wearing earplugs and can feel the base. This happens in evenings when I'm trying to rest or sleep and also happens during the day. It most frequently happens on weekends. I have call in numerous noise complaints over the past 9-10 months. And while a visit from APD sometimes helps, as soon as the officers leave, the loud music often comes back. I have also spoken to my beat officer about this (Officer Perkins) about this problems. In follow-up to my conversations with Officer Perkins I have emailed him twice (May 3 & July 13) but have not yet received a response to those e-mails. I have also made my Common Council member (Judd Krasher) aware of this problem.

I really would appreciate APD being proactive in getting this frequent music blaring to stop and where appropriate issue tickets for violations of the City of Albany noise ordinance.

Enough is enough. I want to be able to peacefully enjoy my apartment.

Parking Meter near 139 Central Ave would not accept credit cards. I tried several different credit cards, multiple times and it did not seem to recognize any of them. Had to use different meter which worked without problem.
  • 845 Madison Ave Albany, New York - Pine Hills
There is significant build-up of think slippery ice on the sidewalk in front of tanning salon (the sidewalk on Ontario needs the clearing -Madison side is ok). Since it several days since snow storm this really should have been cleared but it.s obvious just built up. Its very slippery.
  • 515 Washington Ave Albany, New York - Central Avenue
The sidewalk in front of Stewart's at the corner of Washington and Quail has not adequately removed the snow on sidewalks on its lot (on both Washington and Quail). It has been more than 24 hours since the snow stopped and therefore Stewart's is in violation of the city's snow removal ordinance.
  • 542 Washington Ave Albany, New York - Pine Hills
While it looks like they made some attempt to shovel their sidewalk, it was adequately/completed shoveled. Only a narrow path (approx. 1-1.5 feet wide) and its now been more than 24 hours since the snow stopped, and the path has not been widened. It is very narrow and difficult to walk along and its certainly not wide enough for a wheelchair to use.
And even the part that was shoveled was not completely cleared so its a bumpy walk. More shoveling should be done to adequately widen the path and fully clear it from snow.

The bus stop on Washington Ave (for bus heading to downtown Albany, I believe its stop closest to the SW Corner). The snow was shoveled/plowed/snowblown into a 3-5 feet wall that seperates the sidewalk from street where the bus stop is. Unless one is prepared to climb the snow, to access the bus from bus stop one must enter street and wait in street for bus to come which is not ideal, There should be area cleared so one can safely get from sidewalk in front of bus stop to wear the bus stops.
  • 570-640 Washington Ave Albany, New York - Pine Hills
One of the red light bulbs is burned out at Washington and Ontario intersection. It's one of the signals for traffic on Washington heading downtown. (Luckily another bulb is still working).
  • 542 Washington Ave Albany, New York - Pine Hills
The sidewalk in front of 542 Washington Ave was never shoveled after the last storm (over a week ago). Now, its re-frozen over to thick and slippery ice making it very dangerous to walk on. The ice needs to me removed or at least heavily salted.
  • 542 Washington Avenue Albany, New York - Pine Hills
First Floor apartment of 542 Washington Avenue is frequently playing loud booming music with intnense base both late at night and during the day. 542 Washington shares a common wall with neighboring building (544) and music is loud and base is so intense you not only hear the music but feel the vibrations caused by the loud music and intense base. I have called it previous noise complaints a,couple times, and would just like it to stop. They need to keep noise at reasonable volume and lower their base so their neighbors don't need to hear it.

There seems to be a sensor malfunction. While leaving hotels (Towne Place Suites/Fairfield Inn) to turn left on Washington Ave (to go East/downtown), the light sequence never turned green, it kept skipping that part of the cycle. I assume that there is a sensor at the intersection that wasn't picking up my vehicle. I tried backing up and moving forward to make sure I would hit the sensor but it didn't work and after five minutes, it still had not changed (so the only turn I could legally make was a right). I think the sensor is malfunctioning. I don't know the name of the road by the hotel. This is intersection by Towne Place Suites and the most eastern exit from UAlbany onto Washington Ave (near State Quad)
