DoT has issued a temporary construction regulation prohibiting parking at this address until August 11, 2015 (permit B022015134B10). The regulation prohibits parking any time and covers almost 10% (6/70) of the available spots on the block. This regulation is overly burdensome to the residents on the block, who are now receiving parking tickets. There are a large number of apartment buildings on this block and parking is scarce. There is no reason for parking to be prohibited any time in these spots, especially since the related DoB permits only permit construction from 7am - 6pm. Moreover, prohibiting parking from May 14 - August 11 (the from and to dates on the permit) is far too long.

Brooklyn Community Board 14,
I don't contest the validity of the permit (although I do note that permittees are required to post information, including the permit number, as a condition of receiving a permit, see 34 RCNY 2-02 [c] [2], and the permittee here has not done so). My complaint focuses on the burden the permit imposes on the residents of the block, and seeks to have the Community Board or other elected officials advocate on behalf of the block residents to encourage DoT to reconsider this permit. At minimum, the Community Board should help DoT consider the impact that such permits have on residents in future applications.
