City government = Can't fix stupid , or cajole them into doing their job ,or threaten them in any way, begging them for accountability and transparency gets one no where, ,let's try voting , competent alders can or might make a dent in inefficiency.

Nobody likes to stop at traffic lights, but they're needed so the other people can go in other directions. However, New Haven is the only city where I've experienced traffic light timing that seems to promote congestion and impedes the efficient flow of vehicles. I think the timing of traffic lights is something that you don't notice unless it's severely wrong. When I first came here I was appalled at all the cars that would continue driving through the intersection after the green light turned to red. Now I understand that it's a response to the poorly timed lights.

The intersections in question are operating IAW traffic plans. The intersection of Broadway & Park does not currently have the ability to be coordinated with the intersections in close proximity. The department does have a project in the works to resolve this issue.
