The property was checked this morning. A permit was issued by the Building Dept.

Closed in error

I am wondering as to the status of this issue as the entry states closed and then that such was closed in error. I am also curious as to whether a Demolition Permit was issued as it remains my understanding the actual Building Permit has expired-

This issue remains outstanding as research shows that the property owner is reportedly in violation of both local ordinances and state building code continues to accumulate monetary fines that were said to total many thousands of dollars. The Town of Enfield has conflicting reports as to whether or not a valid building department that has not expired was issued and the property continues to be in a constant state of disrepair and ongoing construction that does not appear to meet established State Building Codes. Furthermore, whatever construction is now being done does not have adequate dumpsters in place nor have any safeguards been made to ensure compliance with hazardous materials.
I would like to thank Code Enforcement for their efforts however state that the Building Department has never entered any data to document that they have been addressing this-
It remains my understanding that See Click Fix was enacted to assist both residents and town officials with addressing and solving issues specific to health and safety within Enfield, Ct. Clearly this is not happening in this particular instance and it is apparently a waste of time and money for individuals to engage in communication specific to building issues. This particular property has been in a marginal state for years.

No communication regarding status-

Unfortunately, the matter remains outstanding and no further status updates have been entered

Unfortunately this matter has not been resolved and remains a safety and property maintenance issue. I have obtained zero updates concerning the status of this matter from anyone affiliated with the Town of Enfield including elected officials.

I find it rather disconcerting that I honor my responsibilities as a roerty owner and taxpayer and this property continues to have a negative impact on property values and neighborhood appearances.

As such, I am very disappointed by this matter and will add this "SeeClick Fix" is another example of tax dollars not being effectively invested and officials not having adequate respect for simply entering a status update or response.

Property Maintenance still has an active case on this property. A Citation was issued on 11/25/2014 for three violations. The property owner requested a hearing and was subsequently assessed fines for two of the violations. To date the fines total approximately $ 58,000.00. Also I believe the Building Department is in the process of bringing the property owners to Housing Court for a number of violations of the Building Code and has issued a "Stop Work Order".
