There is no asphalt driveway nor apron adjacent to the established Street and the sand has deeply eroded and migrated into the street from this address. This is cause for concern as the material is piling in the roadway and migrating into the catch basin which then dumps into Shaker Pines Lake

It would be great if the Town put up signs at the beginning of both Cottage Road and Wheeler/West Shore Drive announcing that the road is a dead end with no thruway. Trucks and Delivery often believe it is a shortcut to the industrial buildings or prisons ...this causes unnecessary traffic and disrupts the neighborhood
  • 34 Wheeler Drive Enfield, Connecticut - polytest
The property located at 34 Wheeler Drive remains in a blighted and nonconforming state whereby no valid building permits are on file as confirmed with town officials. The owner is still incurring fines and further legal action-
Yesterday a large dumpster was placed on the property and early this morning two individuals arrived to begin deconstructing the older portion of the dwelling. Town Building officials have been alerted and as I send this email the contents is being thrown into a dumpster without proper caution for asbestos or lead paint. This leaves the surrounding area including the existing water basin=Shaker Pines Lake in a precarious state given the health hazards of such exposure.
Unfortunately the issue remains unresolved and continues to impact the neighborhood as proper safety standards regarding building permits and Health Guidelines have not been properly followed.
This matter is now a huge liability for the town as formal remedies to gain compliance from the property owners have failed.

The residential property located at the above noted address has no valid permits and has a dumpster on the parcel which is now being utilized for demolition of the existing structure. Two men in a pick up arrived and began removing white siding from the dwelling, taking a window out of the second floor and peeling the siding from the exterior roof. As stated above no valid permits are on file with the building dept and the owner has been in violation of both building and property maintenance codes as confirmed with Town Officials. This has been an ongoing matter that continues to impact the safety and overall well being of those in the area. As no relevant testing has been completed to validate what is being removed (ie. asbestos, lead paint). Recently, debris has been discovered in Shaker Pines Lake which is of grave concern.
