Description

The speeding on Hanford Road at all hours of the day is a major issue. There are many small children on this and surrounding streets and often the parents of the children have to stand in the street and verbally shout at cars to slow their speed. Park Street has a speed bump, even though it's a residential area. I've complained to the SPD about this issue. How do we go about installing a speed bump to stop this issue?

The best course of action is to submit a written request to the Town Administrator for review. The mailing address is 35 Central Street. The Police Department and Public Works Department do not have the authority to install a speed bump.

We saw police nab at least two speeders quickly upon beginning their monitoring (the week of July 4). Haven't seen them back again. Maybe I've missed them. I hope they come back to establish a regular presence.

This is still an ongoing issue. There's a white truck, in particular, that speeds continuously up and down Hanford Road.

I can't say for sure, because I don't notice time of day. It's been during daylight hours such as mid morning, mid afternoons I think. A lot of travel up and down the street on weekends.

We did write to stoneham town hall. We then got a response saying that a speed survey was done and average speed was 29 mph. I think it's more and that 29 mph is false. Something needs to be done before someone gets hurt.

I noticed that a police car has been present, but the problem is that it's clearly visible to those coming down the street from North Street. Maybe it should be parked on Rose Lane.
