Agreed. There's no excuse for some of these properties to be in the shape they are in...

Agreed, agreed, agreed! (Someone else in the 400 block here.) Unfortunately multiple attempts to make complaints here have come to nothing. They just never get acknowledged. Considering writing the Mayor and asking if he knows that no one from the city actually reads any of this anymore.

I have called code compliance.....nothing gets done. The Ingham County Landbank owns the abandoned house with roof caving in. They acknowledged the issue but says they can't go anything ...no funds. Just get s bunch of excuses.

speeding cars is another issue.....seems like a drag strip at times. Drug deals taking place in broad daylight......cars parked wrong way on street......all have been reported but nothing done.

Land bank posted here at one point (several months ago) that they had received a grant to demolish houses including the one on Regent St. but that it would take a while. Not sure if that's still in slow progress or not.

It's not all of them, but the ones on the map are earmarked for demo. There is one showing on Regent St.

The Ingham County Land Bank is currently soliciting bids for hazardous material remediation and demolition of a second set of two groups of demolition projects, including 422 Regent. We have already had the property inspected for any hazardous materials that might require removal before demolition. One of our obstacles has been the releases from Consumers Energy showing the gas line is capped and getting sewer cap permits from the City of Lansing. Both are slow to get through their respective processes. The first two bid groups in this funding source have been awarded and will start demolition next week.

As far as drug deals, parking and speeding. Call LPD and have neighbors call also.call EVERY SINGLE TIME. It does work. If they do not know they cant do anything. 400 block hayford now has two houses that are on LPD watch list. The owners are more aware of LPD and that neighbors ARE watching and complaining and things have slowed down
