This property is being used as some type of construction warehouse or storage site and it is not zoned for this use. Every morning there are lots of workers who show up here and they take up parking spaces on that street that belong to residents. Now there is a lot of trash and construction debris sitting outside this location and it looks a mess.

There is now a large amount of trash and construction debris in this yard: broken windows, old furniture, etc. Spoke to the homeowner who lives next door and he said that the owners of this property are using it as a construction warehouse and I know for a fact that this property is not zoned for this use (used to be a church). Can someone from the city please check this out and have these people clean up the mess in this yard and shut down this illegal use of the property???

Something is wrong with this picture, literally. That's my block on Winthrop and there's not building or property anything like the photo at or near that address. Yes, it sounds like a problem but the location is wrong.

Brian, this location is located right in back of the Paramount Liquor store on the corner on Whalley & Winthrop and that is the right address. This is my block, which is on the one way side of Winthrop and when you drive down the street, the location is on the left hand side and sits back from the street. I'd be happy to show you in person if you'd like as I pass this location every day and it's easy to miss since it sits back so far from the street, just let me know.

Hello Nadine,
I have no doubt your complaint is valid. I've seen the building. Trouble is, it is NOT located at 357 Winthrop (as you reported) so I was seeking clarification. That's all. Maybe you should call the Zoning Board and file a complaint directly. I don't know how effective SeeClickFix is lately. All I ever see from the City is "We have noted your complaint and will get around to it." Not helpful at all.

Hi Brian, that is the address that is located on the building so that is the address I reported. I even double-checked the address again today since I was starting to wonder, but that is the number on the building. I completely agree with you about SeeClickFix lately as well; I get NO RESPONSE from anything I post now so I guess I will go back to the old way of trying to reach out to departments directly. Is there anyone that we can reach out to and find out what's going on?

Down here at Edgewood that's the even side of Winthrop; not sure what happens across Whalley. For what it's worth, Alder Yvette Hamilton's number is 203-508-5426. Good luck. Mayor Toni Harp doesn't seem to be as good an administrator as John DeStefano was. Or maybe she has different priorities and Quality of Life isn't one of them.

Thanks for the update Brian, and you're right that is the even side of Winthrop, so since it's some funky add-on in the back of the existing building which faces Whalley, it could be a Whalley address?? Either way, I will reach out to my contact and see what he can come up with...

I'm not sure what in the world is going on with the outreach and communication at city hall now! I call to get information, no one in the department seems to know anything or I'll call to follow up on something I get transferred from one department to another which doesn't have a live person answering the call. It is all VERY frustrating now trying to get any information or customer service from this current group at city hall and something needs to be done about it.

In a recent meeting at city hall a few weeks ago, I told a couple administration officials that the city's outreach and website were horrible and SOMETHING needs to be done, and other people in the room had the same complaint. I hope they will listen and do something to make things better soon! I will see Alderwoman Hamilton tomorrow, so will mention something to her then, thanks again :)

The owners have cleaned up the property significantly since I last reported this and I talked to my neighbor who lives next door to this property and he says they are responsible about keeping things much neater so I will close this issue. Thanks for nothing city officials because NO ONE acknowledged my issue or did anything about it!
