Not sure if there really is anything that can be done about that one! Maybe the cops could hand out a few tickets there tho. There are constantly people doing at least 80 on 1st ave down the hill...almost catching air! lol

I agree that this is a problem area, but I don't think it's a good idea to put a four way stop on a hill. That just creates more potential accidents from rolling backwards or forwards, especially during icy conditions, for motorcycle riders, and people who haven't perfected standard transmission.

this is a tough issue, with several intersections with the same problem.

short of blocking 19th, and other crossing streets, I am not sure what would work, nor can I offer any suggestions right now.

lower speed limits are irrelevent if the enforcement isn't there.

and someone getting killed seems to have little effect on drivers habits.

I await with interest other's suggestions.

I say let's start a committee to have several meetings on how to warn the public not to buy homes in such dangerous areas or maybe how to knock down the hill to a more appropriate angle so as to not be so dangerous.......................

Make a recommendation to City Hall, I believe that some speed bumps or a deterrent may suffice, but then again, this may pose a problem in winter. I may not be an expert at this, but venting here is not a solution.

I moved away from hillcrest a few years ago. But did live there for several years.

I blame it on the engineering department. Why don't they take care of that
