Something is seriously wrong in the Parks Department. The grass in Beecher Park has not been mowed at all. In some places the grass is 24 inches high. It looks like a hay field.
The condition of our parks is a reflection on our city.

Parks Dept, mow the grass. If the grass isn't mowed and the trash is not picked up, our fair city looks uncared for. If you don't have enough staffers, let us know. We will go to bat for you.

As far as I know there have not been recent budget cuts. The same budget as when the lawns were getting mowed. So what is the problem? I don't know but it needs to be fixed. Volunteers mowed the tree line at Beecher Park but this cannot be considered a solution to the problen. There is only so much volunteers can be expected to do.

As usual, I contacted a caring person at the Parks Dept. who sent someone out to mow the Edgewood mall but it did not get done properly. I thank her because she can only do so much. I think we should all email the Parks dept and cc Mayor Harp. I am going to do that.
