Peter Please stop opening up 850 West Leland (Arai Campus Park). You have opened up a click fix complaint 17 times in the last 45 days. Although Uplift High School was slow in starting their mowing of the field for the summer months, they have done a good job in its upkeep since I talked to them some 6 weeks ago. The area around the field, where they have benches and where people take walks with their dogs etc. is open to everyone. The playing field itself was locked in 2013, by Chicago Public Schools, ( for a secure and safe area for the schools athletic departments use). This is NOT a Chicago Park District park - If it was it would be opened to EVERYONE. No number of complaints that you open on click fix will force CPS to open up their property. Nick, I reopened because there was no explanation that came with the "closed" status. If you want me to not reopen things, than provide an explanation with each closure of issue. If you had provided this explanation with the first closure, I wouldn't need to reopen until you provide an explanation. It should be standard procedure to provide and explanation with each issue closure. We obviously took the time to report an issue, we deserve an explanation when you close an issue without addressing it. It's rude and shows a disrespect to everyone who took time to report the issue. Get it?!? I'll repeat it, provide an explanation and simply close an issue without resolving if it can't be resolved. TRANSPARENCY and RESPECT.

I have responded with an explanation that the grass was cut long ago, on numerous tickets. I can reprint your entire long paragragh which commented almost entirely on the grass not being cut. But anyone can view this comment that you generically just reopened with the push of a button, so that will not be neccessary. As for the park being locked that issue has been talked about since 2013 and published in the newspaper, I thought you would be aware of it. And I have never showed any disrepect in any of my dealings.

Peter, Every time someone opens a click fix complaint, that generates a 311 complaint that we have to inspect and report back on. I have to answer 6 to 7 seven questions and a comment on every 311 complaint before I can close it out. The flaw with click fix is unless you open up a 311 complaint and record the complaint number( so you can check status on later) my comments are not visible or get transferred to click fix for user to see and read. Click fix is a third party user and we have no control on the software.

The lack of respect comes in the form of "Issue Closed" in response to issues reported. It's entirely rude to have that as a status when the issue that the park is still locked has not been addressed. If you had addressed that, I would not have repeatedly reopen the issue with "Still locked".

As for the park's access, read this article from Uptown Update (http://www.uptownupdate.com/2013/05/fenced-out-join-lakeside-neighbors-on.html). So, I'm well aware that it should not be locked at all times.

If SeeClickFix is that bad, why are we encouraged to report issues on here. It's time to investigate a more responsive system that is more transparent. Communication with the community is key to fostering participation from all its residents.
