As you are traveling WESTBOUND on Bloomfield Ave (RTE 305), approaching the intersection of Mountain Rd & Bloomfield Ave, when it the light turns green there should be a green arrow for the cars that wish to turn left on to Mountain Rd. That is a very difficult left turn during peak hours and also dangerous as cars approach from the WEST. It is almost a complete blind spot to see anything coming from the WEST heading towards that intersection. That is truly an accident waiting to happen.

The Department of Public Works is sending a request to the Office of State Traffic Administration to review if it warrants such changes to the signalization.

We are still waiting to hear from the office of the State Traffic Administration regarding the review of the existing signalization.

DPW reports that they are still awaiting word from the State Traffic Commission on this issue.

A delayed light would be wonderful as well, to make crossing the street easier without the threat of impatient motorists ready to run you over as you cross the street

Why is this issue taking over 1 year to resolve ?

Probably because the State is involved.

I was just in touch with the Department of Transportation. They are in the process of designing a new intersection which would include a left turn arrow for west bound traffic on Bloomfield Avenue. They are hopeful that once the design is complete, they could start construction sometime next year.

Update - State reported to DPW staff that they are still working on a preliminary design.

The State has told Windsor staff that they are redesigning the intersection and that the redesign calls for the installation of a left turn arrow. We are unsure at this time of when construction would take place.
