The hanging storm door was removed but in its place an old rug has been hanging over the railing on the front porch/ramp since Spring. Many people and a large amount (20?) of unsupervised children live in this house and the rental 2 doors down on the corner - 1624 James. The adults are constantly screaming profanities at the children - some who are still in diapers. The kids play in the street and on neighbors property through out the James/Dwight St area. These 2 run down rentals over flowing with violent, profanity yelling adults has ruined the area for home owners. Neighbors who have approached the children to remove toys from sidewalks and driveways have had the adults confront them and tell them not to speak to their children.

closing as it doesn't appear the city of lansing really cares how rental properties in lansing are managed. I really should not have bought a home within the city limits. I doubt I could my house away with the condition of the rental properties at 1616 and 1624 James St., Lansing, MI 48906
