There is a dilapidated house in old NE neighborhood that is having construction work done without a permit.
Apparently they are trying to create 3 rental units in a 988 sq ft home, which is less than 333 sq ft per tenant. I don't know how having 3 unrelated persons living in a building that small could be legal.
Contractors show up after hours, on nights and weekends, apparently to avoid detection by city inspectors. The workers drive old beater pickups and look like they are unlicensed contractors and/or illegal aliens (they speak a non-English language). No separate fire exits have been observed.
Rats, racoons, and possums live in or under the house. The house and yard are filthy and the roof has moss, bushes, and small trees growing on it. When the work starts, rats and cockroaches scatter from the house.
This is a dangerous hazard to St Petersburg and our Old NE neighborhood. Please condemn this house and knock it down as soon as possible.
