Description
This intersection desperately needs a three way stop. A recent study conducted by the Dunwoody Police showed that over 50% of drivers speed down Devonshire Rd on their way to the Village Springs neighborhood. The speed limit in all areas is 25 MPH but drivers only slow down as the enter the more heavily congested Village Springs Neighborhood. I live on tDevonshire Rd and have spoken to my neighbors and we all agree that the speeding is a problem. The stationary radar put in place by the police reminded people but as usual, speeding continued once it was removed.

Thank you for using SeeClickFix. Public Works has looked at this concern and reviewed the results from the Police speed trailer.
This location does not meet the minimum criteria for an all way stop. Stop signs are not intended to be used for speed control. Placing them where they are not warranted often results in a higher rate of drivers who ignore them.
When evaluating speed results, the 85th percentile speed is used as the indicator for when there is a speeding problem. This is the speed at which 85% of the vehicles are traveling below. The police speed trailer measured the 85th percentile speed on Devonshire Road at 31 mph which is well below the threshold of 36 mph which would qualify the street for traffic calming measures.
