Since the Board of Education and the city decided to privatize the position of evening custodians for Wilbur Cross High School the school has become increasingly dirty and gross. As a parent of students at this school I can tell you first hand that I have witnessed trash still strewn around hallways first thing in the morning. Floors are not mopped, let alone swept. I know that bathrooms still have the remains of the previous days messes either souring the floors or trash. Wilbur Cross is a community of 2,000 and more people. It is not a light task to keep a public building healthy and operable, so why is this private contractor treating the job so lightly. Please clean up your act. Bring the custodians back. We say we promise the kids a brighter future but we are giving them a dirtier, unhealthier today.
