Which means there’s lots of snow in the streets and on sidewalks throughout the city, some of which will be plowed and shoveled well, some of which won’t. And thus it has always been.
Snow plus freezing weather causes lots of potholes that, at this time of year, only can be filled with cold-patch, which is VERY temporary and will fall out with next snowfall or even with enough traffic; hot asphalt is not even manufactured this time of year, so every pothole repair done now is VERY, VERY temporary.
This public service announcement is meant to eliminate the need for any further posting of issues re. potholes, need for more plowing, unshoveled sidewalks or similar posts.
Because, at this point, it won’t make any difference.

The city says "please help in clearing storm drains" How is anybody supposed to move a 6 foot high solid block of ice out of the way without a tractor or bobcat? The city has done such a poor job with snow removal that we won't even know where the storm drains are for another month. The city really does need to get out with heavy equipment and clear the storm drains!

It makes no sense for each property owner to have to clear the street in front of his property. It would be much more efficient and cost effective for us to do this collectively. Oh, wait. Isn't that how it is supposed to be done now? I'm paying over $14,000 for property taxes and I assumed that for that amount of money the city could at least plow the snow properly!
