Description
Middle of the night (1 a.m.) snow clearing of the Sound School parking lots throughout these last storms has been very disturbing. Of course the plowing has to get done, but this is a residential neighborhood. Some mercy for local residents, such as plowing more toward 5 or 6 a.m., would be welcome.

Hi Jane, I fully agree with you -- the snow needs to be plowed.
However, it is a reasonable courtesy to ask that the trucks don't use loud back-up sirens and that they try to time it for early morning rather than middle of the night.

As for being 'mean spirited and simple minded', no. There are a couple of solutions to this - either stop plowing at night, which means paying more taxes for more trucks to do it all during the day, or bother someone else at that time, and who would you suggest? Frank, are you willing that they bother you instead, or Samit? It's a matter of priorities and availability. As far as being 'residential' it is a school, and the priority is the roads first. And I'm not going to argue.

Jane, since you mentioned my name I will reply.
Neither Frank or I mentioned plowing the roads. I think all of us recognize the necessity of road crews being out at night.
This is simply about the timing and behavior of the crews that clear the parking lots at the Sound School. It doesn't change the number of trucks. 5 or 6AM isn't particularly late in the day. The 85db back-up siren doesn't seem essential at 1AM when no one else is present.
I am glad to see that the board of education has been made aware of this issue and look forward to a solution (after many sleepless nights).
Citizen Jane, the goal is for all of us to keep living harmoniously. I have no idea why you are so opposed.
