Thank you. Another observation: the reduced speed limit during the afternoon period of activation seems to be widely ignored. On Wednesday afternoon, as I was driving eastward through the zone at 3:28 PM at the prescribed 35 MPH, my vehcile was passed by six vehicles, and the vehicles preceding mine through the zone never slowed, rather accelerated to an estimated 45-55 MPH through the zone -- I was alone in having adhered to the limit through the zone. A problem may be that drivers assume that once past the school, that the zone has ended, rather than waiting until they see the end of school zone sign past Audubon.

The complaint below is correct. Traffic southbound on Maysville Rd. has a stop, but there is a sign that says “turn right without stopping.” So that traffic only has to stop if making a left hand turn. Traffic traveling westbound on Randolph Ave. has to stop, but eastbound doesn’t. This might be a little confusing for drivers not familiar with the area (they might be under the impression that if they’re stopped, the traffic on Maysville Rd. has to stop then giving traffic on Randolph Ave. the right of way). This complaint is probably better suited for Traffic Engineering since it would be up to that department to make any changes at the intersection.

Closing post by HPD is for A DIFFERENT ISSUE. Additionally, daily I have travelled the zone and daily my vehicle traveling at 35 mph is passed by vehicles traveling 45 mph or more, and I'm tailgated as if I'm traveling under the LEGAL speed limit.

Yes you are correct. A CRO officer did response to check the location. First and second shift patrol officers will monitor the location for speeders.
