This morning a random count of the first 15 cars parked, from Sachem to Compton on Mansfield, showed that 11 of 15 cars used visitors tags. How is this even possible? Some of these cars have parked here for YEARS, and 2 of the 11 actually had LAST YEAR'S visitor tags? Too many people who live here have their cars registered to other addresses, many of them out of state, and obtain visitor tags from other people. Just because grad students plan on someday moving out of New Haven does not mean they have no responsibilities here. The system is unfair, and with the horrible snow cleanup, creates hardship to honest people who pay their taxes.
