I have not seen the leaf blowers since the first month of the pilot. So cars like this just leave areas completely uncleansd

My sneaking suspicion is that this new "street cleaning scheme" was enacted because the city council and traffic department knew that they had taken more spaces away from most residential neighborhoods so as to make it impossible for everyone to move their vehicles, unless they were willing to park many many more blocks away. So under the name of "equity" they abolished towing. The initial scheme involved using gas powered leaf blowers to clean around parked vehicles, so ironic that it was stopped quickly. Now, no manual cleaning is happening around cars that do not move for street cleaning days so the catch basins are clogged like never before and we have lots more flooding with heavy rains - as we all saw yesterday.

I did say my neighborhood, so it's working a more than just me. Towing for street cleaning was just a make-work project. I'm happy it's gone.

It was not a make work project. It was to clean things. Regardless, eliminating the additional cleaning with leaf blowers leaves a mess in the Port. The city coukd at least address the drain with brooms if it is too oppressive to tow
