I live on Pine and can see people on State Street speeding all the time. There are times I almost saw pedestrians get run over. Specially when people are racing to beat the traffic into the Fosters/Gulf parking lot. I see this lady once in a while in a motorized wheel chair almost get hit several times on State Street. Also if someone does stop for you to cross the street there is usually some impatient driver that drives around them in the ditch. And instead of watching where they are going they are too busy giving the stopped vehicle a dirty look. Only to almost run over pedestrians crossing State St. A lot of drivers don't seem to let their raw emotions rule their heads. For example: Instead of assuming that the vehicle must have stopped in front of them for a reason they instead think that the person stopped simply to be a jerk. ha ha The logical assumption is that the vehicle stopped for some purpose. But the driver behind them either treats them like a jerk and/or acts like they are too much in a hurry to play it safe. Driving in the ditch is dangerous enough but to speed around a stopped car without knowing whats in front of it is very dangerous. I only cross State St. now before 2pm because after that it's a scary place up until 6:30 pm. And late at night there appears to be drunk drivers because I can see a lot of cars drive suspiciously.
