I live on the corner of Mayview and Dixie, so I see this issue play out all the time. On my side of Mayview, there isn't a No Parking sign near Dixie; there is a sign on the other side specifically prohibiting parking within about 20 feet of the intersection (if there's not already a default prohibition as the original poster posits), but it is routinely ignored. Because of the curve and cresting hill on Dixie at this point, it's especially dangerous coming from the east turning south.

I come through this intersection frequently. The additional problem is parking along Mayview approaching Dixie. Very dangerous at afternoon rush hour. Thanks!

I would love to see more enforcement and education in this area and work to improve safety, which is compromised in a daily basis due to parking violations. In this area cars frequently and habitually park within 5-10 feet of stop signs, within 5 feet of driveways, and so close to the intersections that cars are frequently head on with oncoming traffic after turning down the streets. This continues down Mayview from Dixie and onto Stacy Street.

Parking in very close proximity to intersections, stop signs, and driveways continues to occur frequently. Several residents of this area on and near Mayview and Dixie and near Mayview and Stacy and the surrounding area habitually park in a way that is prohibited by the city and that poses safety concerns. This suggests to me more education and enforcement is needed in this area.

Same thing at Wade and Dogwood. People will pull right up to the stop sign on Dogwood and park. 35,000 cars pass this intersection every day and Dogwood is getting more and more congested. Some people just don't care and some people just don't think. It's even worse on Sunday when the Unitarian Church meets. They park anywhere and everywhere, even partially blocking driveways. It's even more dangerous on Lake Boone as you pass Highland Methodist. They also ignore the parking laws. But we don't have the money or the manpower to enforce every parking violation. We are the second fastest growing metropolitan area in the country and have been for a number of years. But developers take the money and run leaving us behind with lagging infrastructure. We just have to be careful, drive defensively and not rely on the police to handle every parking violation.
