Description
Once again the "shopping center" located on the corner of East Pearl & Grand Avenue has failed to do any snow shoveling of the sidewalks bordering their property, forcing pedestrians to walk in the street. This illustrates both the absentee landlord economically exploiting a neighborhood while doing nothing to maintain it and the selective enforcement of New Haven law depending on the neighborhood. I thought that might change somewhat under the new administration, but evidently not.

I have attached a photo. The area to the left of the hedge and to the right of the tree(s) is the un-shoveled sidewalk....... yes, believe it.
I agree that this is a significant issue and ask the city, and the Livable City Initiative to address this issue immediately. It is literally treacherous. I walk this path everyday and must walk on the actual road that is hectic Grand Avenue to get around the un-shoveled walkways. This has been a problem for at least two years. Given that scenario, who is to blame? The business owner or the city?
Please, City, help us to care for our neighborhood by supporting us in these types of issues. This one is a no-brainer.
