I cannot be quite anymore. I am a home owner, and want to see my neighborhood clean, and free from waste. What I drive by every day is disgusting, and should be burned.
From about 32nd Street and Wood/Beach it is a human waste land. There are shanty shacks everywhere, which gives legitimate homeless folks a place to stay warm; but, where is their human waste going? The "lost boys" who are littering the same area, all the way around the Target store is even worse. Honestly, I do not mind the homeless as much as I do the "lost boys". They are young, homeless by choice, train hopping kids living on the streets. They bathe in the Target store, cruise the parking lot looking for unlocked cars (I caught them trying to get into mine) and sit outside the entrance begging.
I can bet if the heath department was to come through this area it would be blocked off. Can you imagine the waste we cannot even see from the road.
SOMEONE needs to do something about this. Who's responsibility is it? Emeryville? Oakland? Targe?

"Volunteers Clamor To Help Build Micro-Homes For The Homeless In Oakland" http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2016/02/25/volunteers-clamber-to-help-build-micro-homes-for-the-homeless-in-oakland/
I was first in favor of these homeless "shelter's" but i have since changed my mind, IMO they are human dog houses(and accompanying piles of trash/sanitation issues etc). I think as a society we can do better. Please NIMBY don't put these "shelter's in my Neighborhood"., How about putting them in Alameda and see what happens!!
Or better yet in front of Oakland City Council.
