Description

Today, the city decides AT RUSH HOUR to block off access to Orange from Chapel, blocking off critical parking and access to George..How STUPID can you be...I get the part about moving the snow, but you couldn't have done that between 4 and 6 am?

My typical 7 minute commute from Fair Haven to downtown took 43 minutes. Two of the delays were due to the city shutting down blocks to remove snow. Yes, at rush hour. I want to believe the city has a rationale for some of its "emergency actions". Good planning allows "emergency actions" to happen in less of an urgent and haphazard fashion. Good planning...that's what we pay city government to do.

Right. The city should clear all the streets between 4AM and 6AM. They can fix all the potholes duribng those hours, too.

Is there an issue? Pay the overtime to ten people to remove the snow during rush hour, (rather than make it unsafe and inconvenience thousands?). You tell us.

That is the city for you. They stress residents by having parking bans to clear the street of snow, but yet the streets are still not cleared. The majority of residents do not have off street parking so the parking bans are a big inconvenience.

Parking bans need to be enforce during and a day after the storm so the snow can be clean, but two days later is a mess. I was late to work too this morning because of the downtown traffic.
