This is Stuyvesant Town, so garbage should be managed in a much more MAINTAINED manner. In this instance, it's not. EVERY DAY there are numerous garbage bags and garbage in general left out on the curb at the western-most section of the 20th St. Loop in Stuytown. This is not the case in ANY of the other loops - only OUR loop.
I am tired of seeing this garbage left out EVERY DAY. It is an EYESORE. I see people having to walk around this big pile, on the weekends, on Holidays, and I have to see it EVERY MORNING and EVENING walking to and from work.
Disgusting.

I've called Stuyvesant Town Management office numerous times. The last representative I spoke with (around Jan. 23, 2012) sounded very understanding of the situation, and concurred that garbage should not be "left out" every day as it is, and said he would definitely tell tell the maintenance supervisor of the situation, yet, as of Jan. 31, 2012, the situation is still the same. HEAPS of garbage left out every day.
One morning (Monday, Jan. 30) while walking to work, I actually saw the maintenance personnel who was doing the dumping, and told him he shouldn't be dumping or "storing" garbage out here on the curb every day, and this was a "new" phenomenon. He just brushed me off, cursed at me, and told me to mind my own business.

Well, here it is - May 6th, 2016. This issue has now been open now (it says) for over 1,500 days...
Status update: I have seen a HUGE IMPROVEMENT! The heaps of daily garbage that used to be left out on this sidewalk are - for the most part - now GONE!
Where there used to be DAILY PILES of garbage bags, boxes, sludge, etc... there is now - NOTHING! Yay....!

Every once in a while, a "pile" will be left there... :( I don't know WHO leaves these garbage bags - as management seems to have told the maintenance guys to NOT leave garbage here anymore... But nonetheless, garbage is OCCASIONALLY left out on the sidewalk...
So - SHOULD I close this ticket...???
Hmmm....
Let's see if we can go 3 months with nothing left on the sidewalk. If that happens, I'll close this ticket. Not sure if I can post a picture with this comment... If I could, it would be a pic I took YESTERDAY of the TEN BAGS OF GARBAGE that were left out on the sidewalk on May 5, 2016.

There’s garbage put out every once in a while, but for the most part, the original purpose for this complaint has been fixed. Stuyvesant Town now stores garbage in a specific area unseen by tenants, so for all intents & purposes, this case is closed as of 02/25:2018.
Only took SIX YEARS+ to full closure!!
