Description
When will the bridge over the Mound Raceway and Metropolitan Freeway start? Will there be sidewalks or safe pedestrian walkways along the existing bridge on the 16-mile road from Mound to Van Dyke? Many years ago, I had heard that Sterling Heights had a plan to have the sidewalks connect from Troy to Freedom Hill along the Freedom Trail to allow walkers, runners, and bikers a path to safely traverse the area and eventually have the ability to connect cities to Lake St. Clair Metropark (f/k/a. Metro Beach).

Safe completed sidewalks should have been and shpuld be installed along Mound Road, Metro Parkway, and the surrounding areas.
“Everyone likes access to downtowns and town centers, right?” said Sterling Heights City Manager Mark Vanderpool. “You don't want to just be able to get there by automobile. You want it to be accessible through public transportation, through pedestrian and other non-motorized transportation networks.”
What about existing areas lacking completed sidewalks? This should apply.
"Sterling Heights Councilman Michael Radtke Jr. said the new trail will be “a net benefit” for the region and the people of Sterling Heights. He said pathways that are accessible to homes are good for people’s health and raise property values. "
Complete an area before the city and the county moves on to start another area.

Other non-motorized transportation i believe would be bicycles, wheelchairs and other wheeled devices for people to get around existing neighborhoods.

Dequindre to Hayes doesn’t have a paved sidewalk?
My son and I did a 20 mile hike from 16 and Dequindre to Metro Beach a few years ago. There were sidewalks all along the hike.
