Somebody needs to go check on your speed van, I went by at 30 mph or less and it took my pic as well as all vehicles approaching and passing it. If I was doing 30 and others were not moving faster then the van is very wrong, and blinding everyone.

Please be advised that the brief operation of the camera you saw this morning was more than likely a test of the equipment inside the mobile spend monitoring unit (SUV), and not the capturing of a citation as that only occurs when a vehicle is traveling 11 mph above the posted speed limit.
When the units are placed on a roadway, equipment can be in use for more than 24 hours at a time. As such, vendor equipment monitors periodically remotely test the equipment to ensure it’s responding/functioning properly. If following a test an issue with the equipment is detected, the Police Department is notified immediately.
