Description
Construction has left very limited parking available on Mechanic st. Residents will find it difficult to park especially over the weekend with state street restaurants. nothing was posted about closing parking on half of the street. Is there any time table for this inconvenience?

Ok, 18 Months to 2 Years of construction. What about the length of time parking on half the street will be closed.
There is no parking on the street for residents. I only have street parking for my apartment and it has never been an issue for the last 2 years. Maybe permit parking should be considered for this area, as when this project is complete there will be more traffic for these spots.
Also there are 3 handicap parking spots on the end of Mechanic street near the East Rock Magnet School. These spots are always vacant. I was also informed from a friend who moved into an apartment that the sign was there for the previous tenant.
Please re-open these issues.

Please contact your Alder (http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/Aldermen/) if you would like a residential parking zone. There is no ordinance or statute giving the department or City Hall authority for a 'temporary residential parking zone'. It involves a petition and would take about 3-4 months from the start of the process.
You may be asking why so long. It is because a residential parking zone is an ordinance and a parking regulation, so it goes through the board of alders process and then through the police commission process (plenty of opportunity to have public debate and discussion on the process).
