This should have been resolved years ago. I am extra cautious as cars and trucks come SPEEDING over the hill going West on Charlotte Pike.

I agree with Sharon Hoover. If our offficals are allowing trucks to dump in a site off Charlotte Pike, the least they can do for the rest of us is to make it as safe as possible. My deep regrets to the family of Mr. Delk.

This has always been a dangerous intersection -an accident just waiting to happen and it did and claimed a life. I see people speeding all the time as they approach this intersection and also if you are turning from Sawyer Brown left onto charlotte you can can not see over the hill where speeders are coming. this needs to be addressed-A light is an absolute must- Do not let another accident happen needlessly! Prayers are ascending for the repose of Mr Delk's soul and for his family.

Cars and dump trucks speed on Charlotte Pike and it's dangerous to turn left off Sawyer Brown Road for fear of getting hit. You cannot see over the hill. We desperately need a light there...not just a flashing light..it does not work.

An accident waiting to happen!!

It was just a matter of time before an accident like this was going to happen. It's really sad that a person has lost their life. Fault or no fault to this person the intersection is dangerous. Try pulling out on Charlotte from Sawyer Brown in the morning rush or late afternoons or even Sunday around 12:05. How far are you suppose to pull up to Charlotte from Sawyer Brown to proceed? Why do cars on Charlotte turning on to Sawyer Brown come within inches of hitting the front of your vehichle as you are trying to turn West? Try turning West during the peak times, from Sawyer Brown and another car turning East pulls up beside you then neither party can see the opposite direction. The increased traffic has only made the problem worst. Was speed a contributing factor to this fatality? It is my feeling most people that travel this area no what I'm talking about.

All of the comments to date are not isolated incidents - these happen everyday - all day - perhaps to me the most significant are the cars coming up Charlotte Pike from Old Hickory towards Sawyer Brown - unfortunately many are doing more than the speed limit - it is risky to turn left off Sawyer Brown and you cannot see these cars until you are out in Charlotte Pike ! Really need a traffic light here - the cautionary does not help !

Still waiting..The wheels of bureaucracy (sp?) don't move fast.

Metro Public Works Engineers have conducted a study at this location and a traffic signal has been recommended, and approved by the T&P Comission. The project is currently under design, and we are coordinating the road widening portion for a new left turn lane into Sawyer Brown with TDOT.
