How many years has it been. This is an ongoing disgusting mess. The cans sit out they block traffic. The street people empty the garbage all over.

I just wrote an email to Starbucks corporate requesting their support on this issue. They are very careful with their store appearance and corporate image. I would suggest that others do the same. If they see one several complaints come in maybe they will address this.

We are longtime residents and agree that this appalling and unsanitary situation is unacceptable and must be corrected. It has gone unresolved far too long. We will be contacting both Starbucks and Noah's - but we feel that the city must address this issue. Thank you!

You can forward this SCF issue to them use the share selection top right. Better yet post it to both there facebook walls. Who else's cans are out there.

Hoping that squeeky wheels get this remedied. It's a pretty rediculous eyesore on an otherwise beautiful street. I haven't seen this happen in any other commercial area in Oakland. Don't understand why it's continued here.

The overflowing trash in front of Noah's and Starbucks has not only been an eyesore and a health hazard, it also is a deterrent for people to shop and walk on the street and I'm not alone in my decision to avoid going into either of these establishments until this mess is resolved. It's embarrassing!

The bins are disgusting, always seem to be full, and are not picked up frequently enough (obviously). Stop attracting vermin and pick up the trash!

I'm so glad to see that there's a place to register comments on this serious problem. Having overflowing, smelly trash cans on the street puts a crimp in a stroll down the Avenue to dinner on a lovely Oakland evening.

I agree this is both unattractive and a health issue.

I'd encourage people ego call them or send them an email. There is no excuse for this. In the meantime, I'll buy my coffee elsewhere.

I've written and encourage everyone else to do so as well.

The situation is much improved but still not ideal. I'm still hoping that a long-term solution will screen off the remaining trash cans from public view.
