If drivers don’t stop they should be ticketed. If pedestrians are almost hit, then hopefully they have been paying attention to the vehicles and got out of the way or did not walk in front of the vehicles. I applaud their self responsibility.

I walk there almost daily. No problem as a pedestrian. I do need to be more aware now that the city has turned the safer for pedestrian one way streets into 2 way streets. Still, my feeling is it's fine the way it is. Simply requires Stop, Look and Listen, before crossing the street.

I agree a 4-way stop here would help a lot.

4 way stops are a waste of time. Let the primary street have continuous movement and install yield signs on the cross streets. If drivers are paying attention to pedestrians they will yield to their right of way. Need to have traffic moving, not continually stopping and starting at every intersection.

Sorry, traffic and safety standards are not opinions. Saying something that's been proven to decrease traffic deaths as 'a waste of time" is not only incorrect, it's worthy of outright dismissal as a comment.

Probably his voice of reason. He and I recognize there is personal responsibility and that govt doesn’t have nor should it provide all the answers. Of course there are some countries where the people are subservient to the govt. I’d rather have the govt be subservient to the citizens.

Your condesending responses are typical and unappreciated. There doesn't need to be a 4-way stop at this intersection. Infact there are too many 4-way stops in the city. Insalling more will ensure it takes forever to traverse the city when this type of bottle neck control is implemented. You can't legislate safety because stupid people will do stupid things. Where immediate danger is a concern, then controls need to be put in place. But controls are not needed for the sake of controls. That is what I see the city attempting to implement. Let the people have free movement.
