Update from Parks: We are currently installing the last of the cycad stanchions - there were significantly many more donated than was initially reported. We are waiting on an estimate for putting down mulch from a landscaping service - as soon as we have that, all the beds will be scheduled to have that applied. We've also had to hire a new contractor to complete the curbing around the park. The City Beautiful Commission is hoping that the arboretum will have a dedication ceremony in late Feb or early March. We still need to update new maps, and install labels on the cycad stanchions. Thank you for your patience as we work to complete this project with the highest level of quality possible.

Thanks for your reply, whoever you may be. I don't think you are CURRENTLY installing the last of the cycad stanchions, since no work has been done on this property in at least the last 6 weeks or more. From all appearances, the property has not been touched since May. Don't understand why the area has not been weeded or the debris removed from the walks through the park. Such normal maintenance of the grounds has nothing to do with the unanticipated over supply of cycad stanchions. Hopefully the long awaited dedication ceremony will not delay the completion of the beautification of the arboretum.

Agree w.Tom. Normal Park Maintenance is Not happening in Fossil Park either. Canals have not been dredged in years, the stench is horrible, and litter is in the lake and canals, and trimming around water is neglected. A request to take care of this was put into the Parks Dept., approx 2 months prior and nothing has happened for clean up since this was reported.

The Palms at North Shore Park are not the problem, the donated plants that look like huge ferns under the trees on the 1100 block of North Shore Park are getting ready to hit the trees. I have asked why you didn't trim the trees before you put those ugly ferns in in June. I have lived in this area for over 23 years. The north end of this park is ugly! Your Parks people told me in Sept this would be done before Christmas! Now Feb or March?? Take your sign down so people walking won't see how slow you all are!
