This complaint is a disappointment in the priorities of my fellow Brookhaven neighbors. We use leaves as mulch, that is natures way. We use trash cans to collect and move leaves so we don't waste resources with one time use leaf bags. My yard is a forest and I intend to keep it as natural as possible while still maintaining it neat, which it is. I spent my weekend taking trash out of Murphy Candler Lake to do my part to keep Brookhaven beautiful, and this is the thanks we get.

Would be nice if everyone would properly store their trash cans inside their garages but probably difficult to legislate good taste and class.

If hiding your trash can is "proper" and not hiding them is a sign of bad taste and low class, all I can say is go back to your HOA. (thank you Buckhead Betty) The International Property Maintenance Code (google it) only says homeowners shall not have "garbage" or "rubbish" visible from the street, and trash cans are neither. BTW, the IPMC also does NOT prohibit "outside storage," as some codes do (trash cans wouldn't fit any definition), so if you get cited for that it's bogus.
