Yankee gas installed a gas service to #11 in 2013 .When is the road going to be permanently paved ? Also who is in charge of keeping track of road opening permits ?

I live down in the north end have had issues with the road being improperly backfilled where someone dug to do utility work. I found out for sure it was work don't by Yankee gas this mess that's been left behind I'd causing my driveway to sink SNF break apart. I get abdolutly no answer from the new super of sndonia public works I don't understand why if the city knows who did the original work and its supposed to be the responsibility of the utility company why this issues is not resolved they have been aware for quite a while now and sadly just last week the Yankee bass was literally one street away from my house and this lrob. If this is let go for another winter someone is gonna have to replace most of my driveway. Makes me wonder if this super for apw. Ever notified Yankee gsss.

A Yankee Gas rep was at the the last BOA meeting OCT 14 asking to dig at 25 Ford Street. I asked him to look at #11. He said he would. The mayor seemed to think that there was somewhat of an issue with the patch also, from his own observation.

While getting this to actually happen may be impossible, whenever ANY city street is dug up to do underground work, the ENTIRE STREET sidewalk to sidewalk from start of dig site to end should have to be resurfaced. "Patches" never work and always end up uneven over time.

Yankeegas is only required to patch and not replace the entire road surface, unless the town has a plan to do it beforehand, as was the case on Hawthorne Ave. in Derby a few years, however Yankeegas can be required by the city to do a better job on street repairs.

Derby has an ordinance passed in the '90s that requires any contractor opening a road surface and sidewalk to make a full-depth repair, curb-to-curb. Ultimately, in any town the contractor gets a permit from public works to open the road and DPW is the party required to inspect and approve the repair.

I actually believe Ansonia supposedly has a clause where who ever is digging up a road has to lay out a bond and no return of bond until inspected and approved by whomever not sure if that ever was or does happen but I do remember reading this a few years back. That does make the most sense if it ever gets enforced I would go one step further and add no return for at least six months so we no if it only looks good on top or all is done correct
