Rob, I completely agree. I opened a ticket about this at this location while ago. I think that there might actually be a chance to get the state to say yes hear given the construction with the bridge in that effect on the neighborhood. I wonder if we could get the new city engineer involved.

If there were two launches. One at either end it would be more likely to see people traveling up the river.

Great idea. I am forwarding your messages to people who where involved with canoe tours of this area a few years ago.

I wonder if, at the same time that they would allow public access with privately owned canoes, if the city could modestly cash in on some rent by offering exclusive access to the site for a canoe rental business This could be a great little startup business for a local person and it wouldn't need a significant amount of capital.

Our outdoor adventure coordinator researched your request. Due to the currents, status as a navigable water and the mechanics of the movable bridge this is not a good location for a public launch. There is a public launch nearby at Lloyd Street.
